Dasha Pearl aka Dierdre Dubois

This New York-born, Paris-based singer-songwriter and producer for Sony, Epic, Wagram, BMG, Chrysalis and more, is back with Mutabilis Rex: a genre-fluid mixtape of NuSoul, rocksteady, and groove, so 90’s — mostly love songs, autobiographical, sensual, and poetic.

At first a street artist, she was discovered and endorsed by Paris’s #1 independent radio, Radio Nova.  She went on to found Ekova (#11 Billboard World Charts), while winning a French Grammy with the Julien Lourau Groove Gang. Featured on Jean Michel Jarre’s Métamorphoses alongside Laurie Anderson and Natacha Atlas, she was chosen as the official opening act for The Cure Bloodflower Tour across France.  Her track “Temoine” (from the film Center of the World) shown at Cannes 2001 alongside Robbie Robertson and Bebel Gilberto.  She’s collaborated with French pop icons -M- and the Penelopes, and founded Urbanswing Soundsystem with Paris hip-hop legend DJ Dee Nasty.

Now she’s running the label Morning Jam Productions, and producing the Dasha Pearl debut album, Mutabilis Rex.
